[Public | Video]

[While Brax was busy, Rhade tried to go get food in the marketplace. Instead, he was zapped and collared and kidnapped.

But this turned out to be a mostly bad idea for the guys involved. He got loose. Now there are three less slavers, but he's stuck with a locked shock collar around his throat. This is what he's pointing to very adamantly when he turns on the feed.] I need someone to help me get this off.

[It doesn't help that he has no idea if anyone else would have a controller for it. He knew the now-dead slavers did (sorry, Doctor) before he got it away from them, but he doesn't know if any of their superiors might come after him.]

Okay. [Slight sigh of frustration. The marketplace? Kinda far.] Might be a few minutes. Stay put.

[Spaaaaaaaaaaam!]
[After she cuts the feed, she breaks into a run. Weaving through crowds, objects, and generally pissing a bunch of people off and looking mad conspicuous while doing so. But she's on a mission, and she doesn't care. Once she finally reaches the marketplace, she slows to a walk, frantically searching for the store he mentioned. It takes a minute to spot it, as it's kinda in a darker area and the sign is barely readable from a distance. Buffy looks around, seeing if anyone's watching her, and when it seems the coast is clear, she sidesteps behind the stands and finds Rhade.

Buffy immediately moves and kneels next to him, examining the collar with her eyes, looking for weak spots and.. Oh, you know, maybe a kill-the-wearer switch she doesn't want to press.] Who did this to you? [She's catching her breath. Quite a run!]

[Buffy turned her head and looked at the newcomer up and down. When she realized it was Elphaba, she made a noise of surprise in her throat.

But she'd already made enough mistakes with the people who had... Integrated into this world. She couldn't be sure if this was Elphaba-Elphaba or Space-Elphaba. So she decided to not mention her knowing her and try to chalk the surprise up to being startled. Buffy nodded and asked her a question.] You know about these collars? Will it.. Explode if I take it off? [Like in the movies! It was a valid concern! She turned her attention back to Rhade as he received another shock. Concern caused worry lines in her forehead.] Sounds like they really want to get you.

That sounds promising. [Half a scoff, but under his breath was the animalistic growl at the idea of being connected to this a moment longer. He didn't know if the Elphaba on the Barge would have experience with these or not, so he didn't know either way.]

...Chance it. I have a good constitution. If it only shocks, I'll probably survive it. [But... not be concious for a bit. Better than the idea of being attached to one of these indefinitely.]

[After raising an eyebrow at Elphaba, she looked Rhade dead in the eyes.] You're sure. [And once she was sure he was sure, Buffy took a deep breath and grabbed the collar with both hands straddling the lock.] Here we go.

[And she pulls, careful not to jerk Rhade's head every which way. The metal starts to bend around the lock. Just then, another shock comes. It makes her have to pause in her efforts, and damn does that hurt. She winces and cries out, hissing in a breath. But it only makes her more angry, more determined.

Buffy snaps the metal at the lock. And Rhade is free.]

[Just as she breaks the collar, one last shock sends him dropping to the deck. But not completely unconcious, just holding his throat as he struggles to remember to breathe.

And then he does breathe in sharply, panting as he tries to get his wind.] I know where it was. [Breathing.] Where they were going to take me. [And then he coughed.]

The story is simple. Three men attacked me. They had restraints meant for sentient beings. I got loose. [I killed them.] And I had to call for help to get the collar they placed on me off.

Someone else had the control for it.
