[Rhade was angry. Then he was sad. Now he's angry angry again, because one of his workers is missing, and he doesn't trust her not to have been kidnapped. He doesn't know where her room is.]

Natasha, or however you prefer to refer to her is missing. The Russian woman with the red hair and the dangerous upbringing. I've never been aware of where her room is or where she stays, so I don't know where to check on her. As there's a small problem on this ship with kidnapping, only occurring slightly less than murderous rampages, I would like to be informed if she's disappeared or rendered unconscious by the ship. [Yes, he knows his inmate has been responsible for one of these, but it's another reason he doesn't like writing off missing persons.]

[Added later.] I'm going to be needing more assistance for the kitchen if your inmate doesn't have a job, and won't be disrupted by mine.

She might be alive. She probably is. People seemed reasonably sure that she did survive the Barge, in at least one timeline.

I left once and lived through a whole alternate year.

I don't like leaving crew behind. Even if they just make dinner on the ship.

A while ago one of the dinner crew workers was kidnapped and tied to a bed for several days, "for her own safety". Some time later I was taken as well as a part of a mass kidnapping.

I don't think there's anything we can do about the disappearances. Just accept the Admiral's surprise transfer orders. But I wish there was some way we could make this place safer for everyone who lives here.

Cato and I can help out for a while if you want. I think Cato would do it if I was working there, too. [Otherwise he'd probably complain about it being menial labor. But it might be good for Cato to do a bit of "menial labor" and see some other soldiers doing it too.]

They do. But often disappearances are accepted as someone leaving the Barge or possibly in a coma. I like to be certain- at least of the people I'm responsible for.

No, unfortunately not. A warden or an inmate can be removed. Even if they're a warden who has completed a deal, they can disappear without memory of ever having been aboard.

No one knows why, nor has it been something we could do anything about.

There was a story once of a warden who managed to retrieve their inmate when they went missing, but it was rare circumstances.
