[Warden Filter | Audio]

[Not long before this thread. Rhade sounds like he's running, so he's breathy. He's actually using his subdermal mic at the moment, so he doesn't have to carry his communicator while he's getting to the stairwell.]

There's a dead body near Barnes's former room. The culprit is the X-5 known as "Ben." Do not engage him if you can help it. Perry, make sure Kozak is in a safe location. [He doesn't even bother with a filter there- what Ben did to Kozak isn't a secret.] I'll need him maneuvered into the stairwell and his exits blocked. I can more adequately engage him there. [He has his reasons.]

Be on the alert for more dead or wounded. Ben does not have his strength or speed back but he's been trained for murder since he was a child. If you see him, contact me immediately.

Would it be possible for you to double check the deck for me, too. I think he'll be looking for an open area, and to my knowledge he hasn't acquired a warden item.

Thank you for the offer, but it's perhaps not the best idea. I'm 99% sure he would take advantage of any hesitation and deprive you of your weapon.

Believe me, where I intend to go I'll have an advantage. [The stairwell was pretty much a plotting place for Rinzler and Rhade when they were both inmate.]

[And he wants to start giving orders. It's the captain habit. But Ben is Rhade's responsibility, and Rhade himself isn't even really his XO any more but a Collector instead. So he squashes that down and approaches it more like coming to the aid of a (decorated veteran) civilian instead of a junior officer.]

You aren't going to shoot him, are you? [Dylan remembers Rhade's history of ruthless practicality where it comes to dealing with threats.]

No, I'm not planning on shooting him.

...Not unless I have to. [But he sounds irritable and like he really doesn't want to. Someone does not like killing his friends, even when they're not Dylan.]

Understood. [Dylan's keeping his Force Lance out, and set to deliver an electrical charge.]

How strong is he? Are we talking Nietzschean level? Magog?

[All Rhade really has to do is drop his- he's counting on the DNA protection on the Force Lance and the fact he's never told Ben about it as a back-up plan.] Human level. I only returned his senses to him, not his strength or speed. I knew he wasn't stable enough for it yet.

But his mind is still primed to match that strength and speed, and he's been trained to do nothing but kill since he was a child.

I'll make sure I don't underestimate him.

You be careful, too. I don't want to spend tonight sitting over a hospital bed. If you need backup, you know I'm ready and willing.

Come to the stairwell. If it looks like he might try anything, you know what to do.

[Dylan might be suspicious of Rhade's brutal streak, but Rhade knows Dylan's is still there.]

[He's not happy about it, but he's killed a child soldier before, only a little younger than Ben. He'll do what's necessary if the worst should happen.]

I'll block the level five exits. [He may not like Rhade much, but security is more important than his personal grudges.]

Does your staser have an electrical setting? If it does, choose that.

But honestly, I don't think you'll be much protection right now if you even remotely hesitate.

[There's a whir-click of his staser charging.]

I've set it to heavy stun.

I've shot people before, Commander, including people I know. I won't hesitate to shoot the X-5 if I see him.

[Not that he's not frightened. He is. But he's got good aim, fast reflexes and combat experience, and feels like it's his duty to help even if there's certainly a part of him that would rather stay safe.]

I got floor 7.

I'm on level 6, near the stairwell. He won't get past me.

Tell me if you see him, or anyone else. I'm relatively certain if someone loses a fight with him, they'll end up a sacrafice to his Lady.

If you need someone to- hold him down or anything like that I can probably be of help.

Will they be back? The one... that died? [He's been told they can, but...]

He will be, and without damage but he'll be in pain for a week.

I'm still considerably stronger than him at the moment, so I should be able to handle it. But I'm also concerned he might end up cornered in one of the common rooms if you would have time to check a couple of those.

I will do my best but I got here quite literally yesterday. Haven't had time to familiarize myself with this place.
