...Did you find anything unusual in your room?

Unusual? How so? [Now Dylan's looking around his own room. Beds--check. Chair--check. Closet--check. Bathroom with those little soaps--check.]

I have an ancient suture needle and thread... Contemporary to the time period we're in. But it doesn't bode well.

Maybe a doctor stayed the room last and left his kit?

[It's a dubious hypothesis, but Dylan's trying to be optimistic here.]

Perhaps. [Rhade is far too accepting of that explanation, which means he doesn't want to think about it. Or has been thinking about it too much.] Will you help me look around? I want to find out where the blood on Ben is coming from.

I'll be right there. We can do a floor-by-floor search, starting with wherever Ben has been recently.

Something's up with this place. At first the ambient spooky was doing my little Goth heart good, but this is beyond fun. People are starting to act weird as hell again, I saw blood and broken glass in a few places, and you already know about the mess with Ben. And there's...something weird about the room above ours. I'm in 117, and all night long I could hear the boards creaking like someone was walking around up there. But no one responds when I knock on the damn door.

I'm fine though. I'm warding the damn room, I've got food stores and I'm tough enough to handle pretty much everything. Are you okay?

I'm fine. Just understandably distracted and more than a little perplexed. [That's not all there is to it.] I can't figure out where the blood is coming from.

217, you say?

Well, either he's left behind some cut-up people somewhere, or the blood's somehow apparating in from elsewhere. You want a sidekick for investigating, I'm up for it. Better than going alone.

[She looks uncomfortably at the ceiling.] Yeah. I don't know what is going on up there. Maybe someone else went nuts and has just locked themselves in?

Can't say I blame them much.

I'll have someone check the room out. I'm not familiar with the investigation methods of the time. He is. If someone is injured in there I need to know.

Where did you find blood and broken glass?

That's understandable. I just...I don't know.

Uh...first floor public bathroom, and an empty suite's bathroom at the end of the hall on the second floor. I didn't mess with it because I didn't know what sort of evidence would need to be gathered.

The second one especially looks like someone strong punched the mirror a lot.

How are you getting along with your new warden?

Laura's nice, and she...I don't know, I think we have the potential to get each other pretty well. But I'm worried about her in this place. She was getting the heebs even more than I.

[Rhade's slight laugh isn't the most healthy bunny of laughs. It's sarcastic, and hateful of their situation.] I think it knows who to aim for. The ones with all the access. It's out to break us.

We'll hang in there, though. We have to.

Well, I'm not giving up. But I've already had it with the Admiral's bullshit vacations.

[If Perry's witnessed any of the hotel's oddities firsthand, he does a decent job of projecting composure. That said, there's something of an uncharacteristic pause before his reply.]

Wanda mentioned someone acting unusually in 217. Since Ben has come back several times with blood on his hands and I can't find the source, and no one is giving me any clues, I was wondering if you would assist me in looking around.

[Especially since Perry knows what can happen when Ben loses control.]

[All too well, unfortunately. But before he can reply, someone else does:]

Uh, that'd be a good reason to not go and investigate, don't you think? A very big reason, in fact, to stay as far away from that room as possible.
