[Today is a very special sort of day. Because Rhade also had a cursed object, only he didn't realize that it was one of his leather jackets. His plan to go to the CES is somewhat hindered by a sudden inability to think up a lie.

He's on his way there, anyway, not realizing yet that how exactly the flood has caused this. He knows that he needs to check up on Ben, because whatever was happening there was really.... strange. Just strange. Basically somehow candy has made Ben act slightly creepier than usual.]


OOC: So, for the first time ever on spontaneous whim I'm doing a truth thing with Rhade. He won't ramble on the network but if he runs into someone he will.

[She lifts it up by its paw, grimacing, starts to tell him she's going to go throw it overboard. But talking about Bruce, even without his name, makes her smile snag a little.]

He'd been here a while. And he's always liked to have more control than he'd ever get here, so.... At least he said good bye, right?

[truth_is_cold]

[Una left while he was here, and having spoken to her recently has reminded him of what that felt like.]

At least. But I don't doubt you still miss him. [He does walk around that bear, though, a doubtful look on his face.]

[She moves around with him, to slip her free arm through his, and tug him down the hallway.]

Like I've lost a limb. He's the reason I decided I'll graduate. Or I'll try...seems the Admiral likes to punch holes in everyone's dreams.

It's not as hard as people think. I did it by accident. I didn't even change any of my behaviors, really. Just what I wanted to achieve with them.

Usually people presume graduation changes who you are.

[He walks with her, and gives her a look of confidence. He has absolutely no doubt that she will.]

[silvestris]

"You seem so confident here, it's hard to picture you as an inmate." She lays her head against his shoulder for a second, a feline sort of affection.

"What changed for you exactly?"

I had several friends while I was here. There wasn't much to do, so I let them closer than I would normally. They helped me realize how bitter I had become; I was trying to blame my anger towards one person on many.

And then I was kidnapped, and a girl gave me a long explanation as to why she did it and I thought to myself, "Was I this insane?"

When I was freed I was graduated. [He turns his head and looks at her fondly. The horrible bear? Less so.]

[silvestris]

[The abbreviated version of his kidnapping makes her laugh, squeeze his arm.]

I hope she didn't turn you off to all insane girls.

[Because well. Selina's marbles may or may not be all together. See: how she turns them to the deck and drops the bear off the side.]

It's a high bar to reach. [He holds his hand over his head and motions.

And honestly, chucking the bear over the side seems very sane to him. He just sticks out his lower lip and gestures as if to say "that made sense to me."]

I can tell you deserve better than here. You're strong, you're maternal- [always a good quality to a Nietzschean], you're intelligent.

[That catches her off guard, and she looks up at him, then grins and circles around so they're face to face, standing near the railing.]

You might be the first person who's ever called me maternal. Does it count if my instincts seem to be geared for kittens?

Domestic cats evolved to imitate children. I think it certainly counts. [He gives her a teasing smile.]

[silvestris]

Did they? [It's a perverse, wonderful bit of trivia that sets her laughing.] We're such wicked little things.

I wonder why anyone picks dogs instead.

[truth_is_cold]

It's an excellent survival skill. I can't blame them for it. [He also suspects that's why Sherry gets away with mauling his hand.]

Some people just like the obvious over having to figure things out. [His own grin is sly.]

Lucky for you, I know better than to trust a man who can't appreciate a good puzzle.

[Which is why, despite some lingering 'check the water no wait the water is bad', she's settled on allowing herself to be curious.]

I still feel like you know more about me than I do about you.

[truth_is_cold]

[And his mouth quirks just slightly.] I'm from a matriarchal genetically engineered human subspecies. My people all have- [he holds up his arm and gestures to the boneblades] these. I used to have twelve children, but I can't return to my family so now I'm the father of one. And I was a chief tactical officer aboard a starship.

[silvestris]

[She pauses, hand on his hip to stop him, too, so she can get a better look at the boneblades.] Is this the only thing that makes you different from humans?

[She's not sure she's altogether human anymore, and after being here it's easier to accept.]

[truth_is_cold]

I'm immune to many poisons, I'm several times stronger than a normal human, and my senses are enhanced.

[He raises an eyebrow primly.] Though I usually don't tell people that my hearing is better than they should expect.

[silvestris]

Ooh. Now that's an interesting tidbit. What have you heard lately?
