[Perry doesn't really have to go much out of his way to prepare dinner for three; he hasn't yet managed to use all of his kitchen stock before the Admiral so generously replenishes his supplies at the start of each month. If anything it's become an exercise in seeing how much variety he can feasibly produce out of the same basic ingredients, but it's a more engaging pastime than most of the available alternatives.
